Spend a day helping students prepare for the real world
Every date below is a real JA program day already on the calendar. Volunteers are what make them happen. You do not need a teaching background and you do not need to prepare anything... we train you and we hand you everything you need.

The five programs
Every JA program is free to the school. No field trip fees, no barriers. Volunteers are trained before the day and are never on their own.
JA BizTown
An 8,000 square foot mini city of business storefronts. Students complete classroom lessons on running a business, managing personal and business finances, career exploration and job interviews, then spend a simulated workday as BizTown citizens. They operate a bank, manage a restaurant, write checks, and vote for mayor.
JA BizTown Mobile
The school gym becomes a miniature city of 16 business storefronts. Students complete 11 classroom lessons covering business operations, personal and business finances, career exploration, job applications and interviewing, then run JA BizTown Mobile for a day.
YES!
Four activities that help students see how financial and career decisions will shape their lives as young adults. Volunteers work with students through the morning and share their own backgrounds as the day goes on. Activities are tailored by grade, from business plans and the trades in sixth, to resume building and interviewing in eighth.
STEM Summit
Eight or nine sessions covering science experiments, technology, engineering, math competitions and trades modules, designed to inspire students to pursue careers in STEM fields.
REAL Life
A full day of financial literacy. Half of it is Budget Builder, where each student is handed an adult life situation and has to make hard financial decisions on the fly. The rest of the day runs through Wheel of 401k, REAL Life Jeopardy, Is the Price Right? and REAL Life #Adulting, covering saving, credit, investing, taxes, the real cost of everyday things, and what it takes to live on your own.
