Board of Trustees and Regional Councils JA of South Central PA is a 501c3 non-profit. The bylaws outline the legal entity and how it is to operate. Imbedded in the bylaws are specific rules about governance. The structure has a Board of Trustees that oversees the operation and then Regional Councils that help provide community support. We currently operate with two Regional Councils. One that represents the York Region and one that represents the Greater Harrisburg Region.
Role of Board of Trustees:
Board members are trustees who act on behalf of
an organization's constituents, including service recipients, funders,
members, the government, and taxpayers. The board of trustees has the
principal responsibility for fulfillment of the organization's mission
and the legal accountability for its operations.
Role of Regional Council:
To provide strong operating ties to the communities served, Regional
Councils have been established.
The Regional Council will consist of 20 to 30 business and civic
leaders from the community.
The Regional Council will provide tactical and
operational input to the organization and provide valuable contact and
support from the local business community.
The Regional Council does not have legal or governance
responsibility. This is held
by the Board of Trustees.

2010, we reached 20,000 students in the York Region out of 57,000
students, a 35% market share.

Greater Harrisburg Area
In 2010, we reached 12,000 students in the Greater Harrisburg Area out of
the 58,000 students, a 15% market share.
The area has been providing only about 50%of the funds needed
to support programs.
The Greater Harrisburg Area Region is comprised of 12 school
districts. These
