Volunteer Information:

Junior Achievement is a worldwide nonprofit organization that presents important life skills through hands-on-economic education lessons.

Caring adults (like you!) are recruited for 5 hours of time and are placed with  students in the classroom during the school day to inspire young people to value our free enterprise system and to improve their quality of life

  • You choose the grade level of students K-12!

  • 30-40 minutes per session for 5-8 visits to the classroom!

  • Share your life experiences with kids!

  • Make a difference!

Getting Involved

As a classroom volunteer, you will discover the benefits of having a direct impact on local education and the fun of sharing your experience with a classroom full of students.

How much time will it take?
Very little! In fact, it only takes about one hour each week to give students a foundation related to the world of work that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives. Your preparation time is also minimal, usually less than one hour per week. Just one hour a week in a classroom can make a lifetime of difference for a student.
Do I have to know how to teach?
No, you don't!  We give you updated, step-by-step materials, activities, and discussions developed by professionals. We take you through each activity and help you make each lesson exciting.

Exactly what will I be doing?
You will help young students understand the world around them, from what it takes to be a good family member to being a good citizen in the community. Using hands-on activities relevant to student interests and lifestyles, you will enrich the curriculum with your own experience. Everything you need to teach the class, from the activities to the tools for the students, are provided for you. You will also receive support from local Junior Achievement staff members.
